Suttree Landing Park

Staying Cool in June

Are you and your family looking for something to do outside this summer? Start June off by visiting the numerous South Knoxville Parks. Suttree Landing Park, Ijams Nature Center, and Mead’s Quarry are great places to paddleboard, kayak, swim, hike, or stroll with a loved one or the family dog.

Waterfront Drive at Suttree Park includes sidewalks, trees, landscaping, LED roads, and pedestrian lighting. Specially designed engineering features ensure that the runoff that reaches the Tennessee River is clean water.

Meade’s Quarry at Ijams’ Nature Center rents kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and tubes to get a better look at the fantastic views of this historic marble quarry. Visitors can swim in the quarry, as well.

Augusta Quarry at Fort Dickerson Park offers hiking,  walking, running, swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking.

Additional parks in the area are:

• Urban Wilderness Gateway Park

• Island Home Park

• I.C. King Park

• Mary Vestal Park

• Vestal Rail Trail
