Bonny Kate
Bonny Kate, named for Tennessee’s most famous pioneer woman, is a mix of old Appalachia and new Knoxville. The locals call the area "SoKno".” This suburb occupies mountainous terrain near the Appalachian range and is covered in greenery. Evergreens and old oaks wall the mountainous roads that wind through the region. The area is booming with new subdivisions popping up regularly as residents who work downtown move in, seeking more bang for their buck.
Homes here range from large modern mansions on big lots in planned communities to vintage brick ranchers on 1 or 2 acres. Old farmhouses still sit on large plots, and spacious log cabins line some ridges of the small mountains in Bonny Kate. Home prices range from $375,000 to $500,000, though some more historic, larger homes in the area can go for around $1 million.

I C King Park
Recently updated, I.C. King Park offers visitors access to the Tennessee River, 11 miles of nature trails, picnic tables, and plenty of fishing across some 219 acres.
Hugging the shoreline of Knob Creek, an inlet of the Tennessee River, and winding through heavily forested woods, these easy-to-moderate trails are a local favorite for hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers. The shoreline and main trails are low in elevation change, but the trails that climb to the ridge are more strenuous with steep descents.
