Surrounded on three sides by the Tennessee River, Lakemoor Hills is home to wooded roads and calm, green subdivisions that define life on what locals call, “the quiet side of the river.” Due to its location across the river from Sequoyah Hills, Lakemoor Hills is also known as “South Sequoyah.” The neighborhood has over 250 homes with lakefrontage, lake views, or ample acreage, making Lakemoor Hills, like Sequoyah Hills, a mighty fine place to call home.
Most homes in the neighborhood were built in the 60s and 70s, and home styles include ranchers as well as many contemporary multi-levels, including some Barber McMurray-designed homes. There are also some newer construction homes, most notably on lots with river frontage. While there are some smaller-sized homes in the neighborhood, homes in Lakemoor Hills tend to be on the large side.
Through the active, voluntary Lakemoor Hills Homeowners Association, locals build community at regular neighborhood events. The Lakemoor Hills Presbyterian Church’s facilities offer regular events on the church’s athletic courts. Just 6 miles from downtown Knoxville, Lakemoor Hills is an established suburban sanctuary from which residents can either access urban amenities or relax on private docks and watch the river run by.
Location-wise, Lakemoor Hills is convenient to many different areas. A short drive north on Alcoa Highway takes you to downtown, the UT campus, UT Hospital, and I-40, while a short trip south takes you to Tyson McGhee airport, I-140, and the city of Alcoa. Residents can travel north or south on Alcoa Highway to buy groceries or go out to eat in South or Downtown Knoxville.

I C King Park
Recently updated, I.C. King Park offers visitors access to the Tennessee River, 11 miles of nature trails, picnic tables, and plenty of fishing across some 219 acres.
Hugging the shoreline of Knob Creek, an inlet of the Tennessee River, and winding through heavily forested woods, these easy-to-moderate trails are a local favorite for hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers. The shoreline and main trails are low in elevation change, but the trails that climb to the ridge are more strenuous with steep descents.
